The Syndicate, the chief executive body of the University, has a strength of 25 - including six Ex-officio members including the Vice-Chancellor and Pro-Vice-Chancellor; 13 members elected by the Senate (six teachers and seven other than teachers); one student elected by the Senate, one scheduled caste member elected by the Senate and five members nominated b y the Government. The Syndicate, which meets ordinarily once in a month or as and when required, has “the executive powers of the University including the general superintendence and control over the institutions of the University”. The term of office of the elected members of the Syndicate, except the student member, is four years.
