Prof. J. Prabhash, Ph.D. in Political Science, is a specialist in Indian Politics, State and Society in Kerala and Human Rights.  Specific areas in which he leads research, currently, include : Political Theatre in Kerala: A Study of KPAC, Modernity and Politics of Muslims in Kerala, Left Politics in Kerala, Decentralisation and Development, Women Movements and Empowerment, State, Public Policy and Coalition Politics, Legislature and Social Change, Media and Human Rights, Development, and Democracy and Human Rights.  Affirmative Action and Social Change:  Social Mobility of Dalits is his most important work.  Dr.Prabhash has also published more than 150 research and popular articles.  He is Professor in the Department of Political Science of the University of Kerala and is currently officiating as the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University.  Earlier, he has also worked as Visiting Professor in the School of Politics and Economics, CG University, California, USA.
