KERALA POLICE NATIONAL WORKSHOP ON PARADIGM CHANGE IN COMMUNITY POLICING.
INVITATION OF RESEARCH PAPERS
Janamaithri Suraksha Project, the Community Policing Project of Kerala was launched in the year 2008, as a pilot Project in 20 Police Stations. As on today it is extended to 248 Police Stations in Kerala. The aim of the Project is to reduce crime and prevent crime with a Police – People partnership. The idea was wholeheartedly accepted by the people of Kerala. Every cross section of the society accepted the concept. We organised a Global Conclave on Community Policing in 2010. The Project also gave birth to a Journal; viz; Janamaithri: A Journal of Democratic Policing. (www.democraticpolicing.org).
We are organising a National Workshop in Trivandrum on Paradigm Change in Community Policing in India on 13th and 14th November 2014.
Various aspects of Community Policing like Community Policing and Internal Security, how to bring Orientation change in Police Personnel, How the Gender Issues / Tribal Issues and Child’s Rights are better addressed through Community Policing, Technology in Empowering Community Policing and various aspects of Consultative Policing Techniques would be discussed in the Workshop.
We are inviting papers on the above subjects. Papers should ideally not exceed 6500 words. Contributors are also requested to include an abstract of 100 words, as well as a brief biography of not more than 50 words. Submissions may be made electronically to

Application for grant for Research Publications – reg.
With a view to encourage original Research in Science/Humanities/Social Sciences, the University of Kerala awards grants every year to Research Journals Published by the affiliated colleges and institutions as recognized by the University and included in the approved list of Journals maintained by the University of Kerala.
Applications are hereby invited for the award of grant to Research Journals for the year 2014-`15 from affiliated colleges and institutions recognized by the University. The Applications should be addressed to the Registrar in the prescribed format (appended) and accompanied by four specimen copies of the publications. The Specimen copies once submitted will not be returned.
The last date for receipt of applications is 05-12-2014.
