Raja Ravi Varma College of Fine Arts, Mavelikkara, was established as school of Painting in 1915. This was later taken over by the Government which developed it as Raja Ravi Varma Institute of Fine Arts. It was in 2000 that it expanded its curriculum and was upgraded into a College offering a Bachelor’s programme in Fine Arts. The college has several outstanding faculty members who are drawn from the front ranks of Contemporary Indian Art scenario and they bring to the classroom the same high standard maintained in their professional life. Apart from this, the college lies nestled in lush greenery, away from the noise and pollution that characterises urban life, which makes it a haven for the student community. The students of the college have fared exceptionally well in the University Examination and have bagged top honours in the University Youth Festivals.
